Company Operating Rhythm

At Deepgram, we embrace an AI-first approach, where the use and integration of advanced AI tools are integral to our operations. Every team member is expected to actively engage with and experiment with AI, even integrating it into their daily work. Success here hinges on the consistent and creative application of the latest AI capabilities. We value candidates who are quick to adopt new models and methods, adept at integrating AI into their workflows, and constantly pushing the boundaries of what these technologies can achieve.

Additionally, we operate at the pace of AI, with rapid change being the norm. This dynamic environment requires candidates who are enthusiastic about experimenting, adapting, thinking on their feet, and learning continuously. This role may not be suitable if you are seeking a highly structured, traditional 9-to-5 environment.

The Opportunity

Deepgram is expanding its capabilities in the Arabic market and seeks a dedicated Applied Engineer to join our team. As the first member of our Applied Engineering team focused on the Arabic-speaking region, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers and driving our growth in this market. You may be based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) or in the broader EMEA region.

In this role, you will lead technical implementations and customer engagements across the MENA region, from initial contact through to production deployment. You will also contribute significantly to pre-sales activities, including technical discovery, proof-of-concepts, and evaluations that support the sales process. Your work will involve representing Deepgram at regional events and providing feedback on our Arabic models to our Product and Research teams.

About the Solutions Architect Role at Deepgram

Solutions Architects at Deepgram are responsible for transforming customer needs into technical solutions, from initial onboarding to production deployment. This role is technical and hands-on, requiring a deep understanding of customer environments and constraints. You will design and implement solutions that fit each customer's unique needs, driving the deployment process, and refining these solutions into reusable patterns for future engagements. Additionally, you will engage in pre-sales activities, working closely with Account Executives to secure new business and contribute to product development by sharing insights and feedback.

You will be part of the Applied Engineering team, with a clear path for growth from Associate to Principal. The region is your focus, and this role offers the opportunity to build a technical playbook that others can follow.

What You'll Do

- Lead the technical design and delivery of customer implementations across MENA, from kickoff through production cutover - Conduct technical discovery, proof-of-concept design, and evaluations for regional prospects, collaborating with Account Executives - Design solutions that fit each customer's stack, constraints, and data-residency requirements - Represent Deepgram in front of Arabic-speaking customers and at regional events - Provide feedback on Arabic model performance across dialects to our Product and Research teams - Develop reusable implementation patterns, reference architectures, and deployment playbooks for the broader team and customers - Support the most complex post-onboarding cases in the region and help expand our coverage into APAC hours over time

Time Allocation

- 40% - Customer implementation and scaling engagements - 25% - Pre-sales technical work, including discovery, demos, proof-of-concepts, and evaluations - 15% - Building reusable patterns, reference architectures, and automation - 10% - Documentation, knowledge sharing, and product feedback - 10% - Complex post-onboarding escalations for regional customers

Your First 90 Days

- First 30 Days - Complete comprehensive onboarding to understand Deepgram's technology, products, and competitive landscape. Gain proficiency with our core APIs and documentation. Shadow active implementation engagements and discovery calls across EMEA accounts to learn how the Applied Engineering team operates. - 60 Days - Begin owning customer implementation engagements end to end, and lead technical discovery for regional prospects alongside Account Executives. Start contributing to reusable implementation patterns, and deliver your first Arabic-focused demo or evaluation asset. - 90 Days - Own the technical relationship with your assigned regional accounts. Run evaluations and implementations concurrently, and establish a working feedback loop with our Product and Research teams on Arabic model performance.

You'll Love This Role If You

- Desire to be the first dedicated technical presence for a region and create the playbook that others follow - Enjoy a mix of customer interactions and hands-on technical work - Are passionate about bringing Voice AI to Arabic-speaking markets - Take satisfaction in designing scalable solutions beyond a single customer engagement - Can communicate effectively with both engineering and business stakeholders

It's Important To Us That You Have

- Native or professional-level fluency in Arabic and excellent written and spoken English - A base in the MENA region (preferred) or elsewhere in EMEA, where our employment partner supports hiring - 4+ years of experience implementing or deploying technical solutions for enterprise customers, preferably in customer-facing technical roles - A strong software engineering background with professional development experience in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Rust, or similar languages - Experience leading the technical delivery of production deployments, from design through cutover - Proven ability to scope and sequence complex technical work for successful delivery - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

It Would Be Great if You Had

- Comfort across multiple Arabic dialects (Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine, North African)
