About this job

Canvas Medical is driving innovation in everyday healthcare with a cutting-edge EMR platform designed for automation. We develop modern, sleek, and user-friendly front- and back-end tools to empower developers and healthcare professionals to integrate data, streamline workflows, and collaborate to overcome healthcare's most complex challenges. This work aligns with our mission to equip care teams with superpowers through software.

Backed by some of the world's leading technology investors, including those who have supported notable health tech companies like GoodRx, Oscar Health, and Hims & Hers Health, we have the support and expertise to succeed.

Job Description We are seeking a Solutions Consultant to join our GTM Operations team, bridging the gap between customer needs and our platform's capabilities. This role requires a blend of customer empathy, product strategy, and technical execution, assisting providers and care teams in unlocking the true value of Canvas Medical's EMR by optimizing their workflows.

As a Solutions Consultant, you will interact directly with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to identify complex healthcare delivery issues. You will translate these insights into clear product requirements, create prototypes using the Canvas SDK, and contribute to platform evolution by suggesting strategic enhancements. This role is highly impactful, accelerating the delivery of value to customers while shaping our platform's growth.

We are looking for someone who is deeply curious about healthcare technology, comfortable with modern development tools, and adept at bridging the gap between business and technical contexts. You should be comfortable working in ambiguity, balance short-term customer needs with long-term platform health, and thrive in cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

- Customer Interaction & Solution Design - Engage with customers, prospects, and internal partners to understand clinical workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes - Convert healthcare insights into structured Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to drive solution design - Balance immediate customer needs with long-term platform evolution to create sustainable, scalable solutions - Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting learnings and best practices

- Technical Prototyping & Platform Development - Build and validate solutions using the Canvas SDK, demonstrating proficiency with event-driven design, handlers, and effects - Collaborate with engineers to prototype and showcase platform capabilities - Determine when to deliver within existing SDK capabilities versus advocating for platform enhancements - Develop and maintain reusable solution patterns and playbooks to accelerate future engagements

- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery - Work across sales, customer success, implementation, engineering, and product teams to align on delivery and feedback loops - Facilitate communication between operational and technical teams to drive solution advancement - Track and report quality signals (demo-to-production flow, SDK adoption, customer feedback) to inform iterative improvements - Gain experience by shadowing senior team members while progressively taking on more complex tasks independently

Qualifications

- Required Experience & Background - Recent graduate or early-career candidate in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Engineering, UX, Applied Data, or related field - Strong interest in healthcare technology and EMR systems with a passion for improving provider and patient workflows - Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt in ambiguous environments - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information

- Technical Skills & Capabilities - Comfort with modern SDKs, APIs, and plugin-based architectures - Willingness to explore concepts like event-driven design, handlers, and effects - Strategic mindset to balance short-term deliverables with long-term platform health - Ability to identify leverage points and scalable solution patterns

- Healthcare & Domain Expertise - Understanding of healthcare delivery challenges and provider workflow pain points - Interest in healthcare automation and improving clinical operations through software - Ability to engage effectively with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders

- Personal Attributes - Collaborative by nature, excelling in cross-team collaboration - Growth mindset with a strong learning drive - Productive tension management, comfortable navigating trade-offs - AI-native and pragmatic, using modern tools to accelerate discovery while respecting practical constraints

- Nice-to-Have Qualifications - Experience with building or working with SDKs, frontend/backend integrations, or plugin architectures - Familiarity with healthcare data workflows, standards, or provider-facing tooling - Experience drafting product requirements, specs, or mockups for technical systems - Basic scripting skills (Python, JavaScript) or the ability to build demonstrable prototypes - Customer-facing experience in a technical capacity (internships, support, technical project work)

What Success Looks Like at 90 Days

- Independently write PRDs and deliver SDK-based prototypes for 3-5 customer engagements - Identify and document at least 2 platform enhancement opportunities that enable scalable solutions - Establish strong working relationships across GTM operations and engineering teams

Growth Path

- Within 6-12 months, you will take on significant portions of the solution lifecycle, from customer discovery to prototype delivery. High performers will lead small teams, shape customer delivery strategies, and drive platform capability expansion.

- This role offers a unique chance to influence both the immediate delivery of customer value and the platform's future scalability in healthcare automation.

Location

- Our team is fully remote but encourages in-person collaboration in our office in San Francisco, or one of our satellite locations in Washington DC. We value strong written communication skills, time management, and personal accountability.
