The Role

We seek an Engineering Manager to spearhead the development of RC Capital, a pioneering business unit. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and support of infrastructure for Early Payouts and future initiatives, including underwriting, risk assessment, financial integrations, and fraud prevention. This role combines technical expertise with financial product management, requiring a background in fintech, financial services, or a related regulated sector.

About You

- 6+ years of software engineering experience. - 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams. - Experience in cross-functional collaboration to set and prioritize roadmaps. - Proficiency in delivering new features, managing technical debt, and enhancing system quality. - Hands-on with SQL for data analysis and debugging. - Supporting your team to ensure consistent value and quality in software development. - Improving product quality and meeting customer and SLA requirements. - Providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers in critical technical decisions. - Experience coaching engineers at various levels and guiding their career development. - Customer-focused, prioritizing their outcomes and experiences.

Responsibilities

- Lead and inspire a distributed team, focusing on hiring, coaching, and continuous improvement. - Collaborate with product, design, and support teams to set strategic direction and address scaling challenges. - Guide the execution of the roadmap, ensuring efficient and transparent processes for consistent delivery. - Mentor and coach engineers to enhance their professional growth. - Work with other engineering managers to enhance organizational efficiency and foster a sense of ownership and inclusivity.

Initial Focus

- Gain insight into current technical projects. - Engage with your team members to understand their expertise. - Meet with EMs and PMs from other teams to understand their initiatives. - Participate in iterative development processes and understand team dynamics. - Collaborate with design and product teams to align on priorities. - Schedule 1:1 meetings to build rapport with your team members.
