OVERVIEW

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

We seek a Tech Linguistic Tester to meticulously review and refine content that has already been localized into your native language. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and reporting any errors, such as grammatical mistakes, typos, syntax issues, punctuation errors, capitalization inconsistencies, political insensitivities, and formatting discrepancies. You will occasionally translate content from English to your native language. Additionally, you will ensure the functionality of user interfaces (UIs).

Responsibilities: - Document and report pertinent bugs and errors using best practices through our internal database system. - Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks and issues. - Possess native-level fluency in both spoken and written language of the required language. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. - Perform quality assurance on various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases. - Identify and report defects (bugs) using specific client bug tracking tools. - Assess translations in the context of software, mobile applications, and documentation. - Serve as an expert in linguistic issues for the target language, capable of researching and resolving linguistic questions. - Adhere to project-specific quality standards, including trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries. - Troubleshoot basic problems and effectively communicate and escalate testing issues. - Complete assigned tasks promptly and to a high standard.

Requirements: Education: - Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: - Native-level fluency (both speaking and writing) in the required language(s). - Current and comprehensive understanding of technical language usage in the target language. - Strong English language skills, both written and spoken. - Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to navigate networks and websites using various browsers. - Basic knowledge of personal computer hardware (desktop and laptop). - Basic knowledge of smartphones (iPhone or Android). - Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems. - At least 3 years of professional translation and localization experience. - In-depth knowledge of the native culture and trends. - Regular use of social media, particularly the Facebook family of apps. - Experience with consumer devices providing utility like messaging, health, fitness, calendar, and organization.
