Job Description:

We are hiring a Legal Assistant to support immigration work and guide clients through their legal needs with care and professionalism. Day to day, you will handle case and client management, prepare immigration forms and legal paperwork, run legal research, and make sure case packets are complete before an attorney reviews them.

You will also be a key contact for clients: answering questions, handling communications, and coordinating appointments. The result is a legal team that runs smoothly and clients who feel supported and informed at every stage.

A good fit here is organized, precise, flexible, and dedicated to strong service inside a fast-moving legal setting.

Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Reply quickly to client questions and route their needs to the right place. * Monitor how each case is progressing and keep supporting paperwork in order. * Help with client communications across the full life of a case. * Write legal documents, recommendation letters, and other supporting materials. * Keep case records accurate, tidy, and current. * Work according to attorney direction and set legal procedures. * Back up administrative and legal operations where needed. * Take on further legal and administrative work as assigned. * Run case and client management through MyCase. * Deliver professional customer service over email and phone. * Take incoming client calls and help book appointments. * Carry out legal research requested by attorneys. * Prepare immigration forms in Docketwise. * Put together full case packets and pass them to an attorney for review.

Requirements:

• Full-time position * Schedule follows Pacific Time (PT) * U.S. immigration law experience is preferred * Prior use of legal case management systems is preferred * Background preparing immigration forms and legal documents is preferred * At ease speaking with clients by phone and email * Able to work solo while sticking to set procedures and attorney direction * Sharp eye for detail on case documentation and case packets * Able to keep confidentiality and treat sensitive information professionally * Portuguese knowledge. * Earlier work as a legal support person, legal assistant, paralegal assistant, or something similar is preferred * Strong English, written and spoken * Able to juggle several priorities and hit deadlines * Excellent organization and documentation habits * Professional, client-first communication style * Picks up new systems, procedures, and workflows fast
