About this job

Req ID: FEQ427R219

Databricks is seeking a visionary, strategic, and results-driven senior leader to spearhead our energy sector market strategy in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. As a pivotal member of our global industry team, you will craft and implement Databricks' engagement strategy with the energy industry, which is one of the world's fastest-evolving sectors. You will report to the Global Head of GTM for Manufacturing, Transportation, and Energy, and work closely with EMEA sales, field engineering, and GTM leadership on a daily basis.

You will function at the confluence of industry knowledge, customer interaction, and commercial strategy, assisting Databricks in capturing market opportunities where data and AI are transforming the energy landscape to support future growth. If you possess deep industry expertise, the ability to define AI strategies for the world's largest energy companies, and a proven history of leveraging data and AI to deliver tangible business benefits, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Vision & Executive Engagement: Guide AI vision-setting sessions with key energy clients, offering strategic insights to CEOs and senior executives. Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders in EMEA.

- GTM Strategy & Pipeline Growth: Oversee the strategic and operational execution of GTM initiatives in the energy sector across EMEA, including oil and gas, power and utilities, renewables, and mining. Boost pipeline growth and expedite customer adoption. Set, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for GTM initiatives, continuously adjusting plans based on data and field insights.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster alignment with EMEA sales, field engineering, marketing, partnerships, and product teams. Develop and implement industry-specific GTM programs that transform market potential into revenue.

- Thought Leadership & Market Analysis: Author and present thought leadership through industry publications, conferences, and executive briefings to establish Databricks as the go-to platform for the energy sector. Provide ongoing analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to refine our industry strategy and identify high-value growth opportunities.

- Frequent Travel: Engage in regular travel to support client meetings, executive engagements, and industry events.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree is highly desirable.

- Industry Leadership: Over 10 years of leadership experience in the energy sector, with at least 5 years in a GTM, strategy, or business development role within strategic consulting firms (preferred ex-MBB) or product-driven technology companies.

- Commercial Success: A proven track record of successfully bringing technology products or platforms to market with a clear industry focus and measurable commercial outcomes.

- Domain Expertise: Advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: subsurface intelligence, industrial AI, energy and commodity trading, and grid resilience. Familiarity with key energy industry standards and frameworks in EMEA. A thorough understanding of the modern data and AI technology landscape and its applications across the energy sector.

- Soft Skills & Collaboration: A demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority in a dynamic, matrixed organization. A history of building strong relationships with senior executives in a multilingual, multicultural market like EMEA. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical and data concepts in a compelling business narrative for executive audiences.
