We are currently seeking a Design Manager to spearhead and contribute to our Visual Design practice that supports brand and site experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for seasoned designers who excel in managing people, driving projects, and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities Include: - Ensuring consistency in our visual design across all touchpoints by applying and refining existing guidelines. - Leading a variety of projects, including marketing campaign assets, data visualization, print, and user interface design. - Collaborating closely with our design systems and site teams to influence the UI of all our digital experiences. - Engaging in various projects that extend beyond brand design to foster cross-departmental collaboration.
In this role, you will lead a team of visual designers responsible for brand and site-related work. Your responsibilities will include: - Guiding the team in driving innovation, setting direction, maintaining quality, and ensuring continuous professional growth. - Creating exceptional visual solutions to set the creative vision and leading by example. - Providing critical and constructive feedback on work, contributing hands-on design when necessary. - Supporting the professional development of individual designers. - Continuously improving operational workflows, including production processes. - Collaborating with stakeholders, particularly from Marketing, Web Engineering, and Design Systems. - Evolving design systems and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and operational efficiency. - Collaborating with the broader design leadership to mature our collective practice. - Facilitating the sharing of work and strengthening our team culture. - Enhancing the visibility of design's value throughout the organization and the open-source community.
We are looking for a candidate with: - A strong portfolio showcasing leadership in diverse organizations and in the execution of complex design projects. - Experience in managing complex projects and teams, while still actively engaging in design work. - A deep understanding of visual design principles (typography, layout, color, systems) with broad experience. - Strong process management and the ability to handle ambiguity, competing priorities, and limited resources. - A clear vision balanced with openness to critique and feedback, prioritizing usability and accessibility. - A commitment to personal and team development and mentorship. - A genuine passion for technology. - A self-motivated, result-oriented approach with a personal drive to meet commitments. - Exceptional educational achievements in design or a compelling narrative of your alternative path. - Professional written and spoken English. - Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events that last up to two weeks.
