Legacy systems require active management to retire; someone must orchestrate the transition, and that person is you. As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our modernization efforts, owning the entire lifecycle of customer projects, from migration from outdated hardware to AWS to ensuring smooth and reliable deployments.

Aedeon and automation handle the mundane aspects of the job, allowing you to concentrate on the nuanced areas that require a seasoned engineer: infrastructure design, risk assessment, and ensuring operational excellence. You'll collaborate closely with clients, embedded in their teams, and personally commit to the delivery timelines outlined in the contract.

Your responsibilities include:

- Automating infrastructure setup with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, ensuring efficient and repeatable processes. - Managing application configurations and driving Infrastructure as Code through deployment tools. - Leading the build and release process from start to finish. - Sharing responsibilities for deployment and operations. - Enhancing our operational infrastructure, including Jenkins clusters, Bitbucket, monitoring tools like Consul, and metrics tools such as Graphite and Grafana. - Assisting in the migration of legacy infrastructure to the cloud, ensuring the decommissioning of old systems. - Setting and enforcing operational best practices. - Contributing to the hiring and mentoring of new team members. - Collaborating with the founders on strategic planning and long-term technical vision. - Working with distributed teams and customer SMEs to ensure accurate business logic during the migration process.

We seek candidates with:

- At least 4 years of experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. - 4 years of hands-on experience in configuration management and systems engineering, particularly in large-scale Agile environments. - 4 years of Linux or Windows administration experience. - 4 years of proficiency with Git, including a strong understanding of branching and merging strategies. - 2 years of experience with AWS infrastructure and platform services. - 2 years of experience with cloud automation tools like Ansible or Chef. - 2 years of experience with container orchestration, Kubernetes (EKS), AWS ECS, and Docker. - A proactive mindset and a commitment to improving reliability and scalability.

Preferred qualifications include:

- Expertise in multiple cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. - AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or DevOps Professional. - Hands-on experience with data pipelines, big data processing, or machine learning workflows on cloud platforms.
