About this job
The Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Sales Manager to drive revenue growth in EMEA and APAC and to contribute to the digital transformation of the global weather and climate industry. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will expand Spire’s market presence in key industry segments, leverage our robust partner ecosystem to promote the adoption of our forecast data, APIs, and decision-support solutions, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
This is a high-impact, quota-carrying role for a sales professional who is energized by the intersection of data and software and who is eager to sell a product that is literally powered by space.
Your Responsibilities:
- Territory Ownership: Develop and implement a strategic territory plan for EMEA and APAC, identifying and nurturing new business opportunities while strengthening and maintaining existing client relationships. - Exceed Targets: Achieve and surpass assigned quotas through disciplined prospecting, qualification, and end-to-end deal execution. - Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the weather, climate, and earth intelligence ecosystem, understanding their needs, challenges, and objectives to tailor solutions accordingly. - Consultative Selling: Utilize a solution-selling approach to uncover clients’ operational pain points and propose customized offerings built on Spire’s weather forecasts, historical data, and climate analytics. - Master the Product: Gain deep expertise in Spire’s data products and platforms—understanding their features, differentiation, and applications—to communicate compelling value to both technical and executive audiences. - Winning Proposals: Prepare and present compelling sales presentations, proposals, and responses to tenders that clearly articulate Spire’s value proposition. - Negotiate and Close: Lead commercial negotiations on terms and pricing to achieve mutually beneficial agreements and ensure reliable deal closure. - Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline in our CRM, ensuring thorough forecasting and timely follow-up on every lead and opportunity. - Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, competitive movements, and emerging opportunities in your regions to inform strategy and identify new areas for growth. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, meteorology, and customer success teams to ensure client satisfaction and provide market insights for product development.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a focus on selling data products, SaaS, or API-based solutions. - Performance: A proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas. - Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the weather and climate industry, or extensive experience selling digital transformation into data-driven sectors such as energy, maritime, aviation, agriculture, or logistics. - Selling Style: A consultative, value-based selling approach with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. - Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships across cultures, time zones, and seniority levels. - Sales Tools: Proficiency with modern sales tools such as Salesforce or similar CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Lusha. - Independence: Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote, globally distributed team. - Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; willingness to travel across the territory as needed. - Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably in a high-tech field.
Preferred Skills:
- Language Skills: Additional language skills relevant to the EMEA or APAC regions. - Industry Network: Existing network within meteorology, earth observation, or climate-tech communities. - Enterprise Experience: Experience selling to or partnering with government agencies, national met services, or large enterprises in regulated industries.
Why Join Spire:
- Impactful Mission: Contribute to helping organizations worldwide adapt to a changing climate using data collected from space. - Territorial Autonomy: Manage a large, high-potential territory with the freedom to build it your way. - Competitive Compensation: Base salary plus uncapped commission and equity participation. - Flexible Work: Flexible, remote-first working within a collaborative, international team spanning four continents. - Generous Benefits: Generous time off, local statutory benefits, and support for professional development.
