OVERVIEW

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Welocalize is recruiting dedicated and culturally adept Sports Subject Matter Experts, particularly those with a deep understanding of football, and strong writing skills, to be part of our localization team. Your responsibilities will include reviewing, localizing, fact-checking, translating, and adapting football-related content to ensure it resonates with the target audience in your region.

Project Details: Language Pair: English (US) > Ukrainian (Ukraine) Task Type: Quality Control, Translation, Copy Editing, MTPE Assessment: Grammar + SME knowledge PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Examine, adapt, fact-check, translate, and modify sports content, primarily focusing on football, while complying with style guide standards and instructions

* Perform market-specific research to identify trends in local content, product terminology, and the best localization practices for the intended audience in your region

* Offer constructive feedback on the written content

REQUIRED SKILLS

* A bachelor's degree or 2+ years of professional experience in the linguistic field, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing

* In-depth knowledge of sports, specifically football

* Experience in translating and localizing multimedia content, ideally involving machine translation and evaluation

* Native-level proficiency in the target language

* Superior grammar and writing skills in the native language

* Strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing abilities in the native language

* Technological proficiency: advanced skills in using computers and mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets

* Ownership of a licensed version of MS Office applications

* Capability to work independently and remotely

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

* Published work on platforms such as ESPN, The Athletic, FourFourTwo, or similar

* Experience collaborating with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services.

* A knack for adjusting tone and style to connect with Gen Z, football fan culture, and pop culture audiences.
